House mouse, CPS, and cake!

Today has been rather productive, At least for being so sick! Ha ha ha I guess the antibiotics are kicking in and I'm good to go! I feel like.... well not a million, but maybe a couple hundred thousand bucks! Ha ha ha

My morning started at 5 am, mostly because I couldn't breathe through my nose, and that is not too conducive to sleeping, but I digress.  I read a couple chapters from "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" while sipping piping hot Coffee and indulging in a chocolate peanut butter LaraBar and a Banana.  That my friends, leads to this..... a Card made BEFORE sun-up!
I think it came out well, although the lighting is bad... I was trying to play with morning sunlight, and it seems I've failed miserably, But I was NOT going out in the freezing cold to take the pic.... OK, so I did try to do just that, but the stinking wind was too strong, and by the time I got the card upright and the camera focused, poof, Mother Nature knocked it down! I'm going to enter this card into the House Mouse Challenge (use one of their images and two, or more, hearts) and in the CPS challenge, which was a sketch! You can check them out by clicking on their names, by the way.

So it was off to the kitchen for me! I decided to bake some cupcakes to donate to the old folks home down town.  They send me a list of their birthdays of residents who don't have family in the area, and I bake cupcakes to take to them so they don't feel forgotten.  Today was a lady named Nevada's birthday, so she got some Milk Chocolate S'More Cupcakes!
I hope she likes them!

After all of that, my DH took me to the movies to see One For The Money, since I've real ALL the books! Love that stinking story! ha ha ha Too funny.  It was OK, not great, totally more of a Chick Flick, but bless him for laughing at the funny parts! ha haha

OK, time to finish my chores and take my kiddo to swim class.  See you all tomorrow!

House mouse blog hop day!

Here is my card for the House Mouse blog hop today.  The requirements were to use a house mouse image and two hearts.
Ok, I'm super sick so I'm going to veg out.  See you all later.

CPS Day 2

So, it's day two of the 15 day challenge over at Card Positioning Systems for their 5th anniversary.  So I figured, since I had my first cup of coffee in me, I'd give it a stab. Here's the sketch:
And, since I seem to be on a Kraftin Kimmie streak for some reason, here's my card:
I'm pretty pleased with the outcome here.  I love this paper that I found on clearance in an "Retro" stack at Joanne's last week.  Its a bunch of ads for old remedies and meds. So I think KK's little girl here fits right in! Ha ha ha She just looks to me like she'd be willing to give you some of those old remedies to make you "well" again.
Ok, I think I've procrastinated long enough, I must start my day, now that it's after 9 am! ha ha ha Here's hoping that today I can refrain from using (another) entire box of tissue, and I can be a somewhat functioning and productive member of society.  Here's hoping anyways...
TTFN!

CPS 5th Anniversary Celebration

CPS announced today that they are doing a 5th anniversary challenge, 15 sketches in 15 days.  So naturally, my Pal, Lena, and I are in! Here is the sketch:
And here's my take:
I hope that I can stick with this for 15 days because they have some fab prizes that I'd love to win.  Best laid plans..... ha ha ha
It's off to bed now, I've been sick with this stupid sinus thing for like 2 weeks now, and after a day filled with screaming toddlers (I swear someone let a peacock loose in the room), I'm ready for Calgone to take me away! ha ha ha So Hopefully my kiddo slips into dream land and mommy can grab a good book and draw a hot bath and brainstorm about tomorrow's card! ha ha ha (Right, It'll NEVER happen, but I can dream right?)
Good night all, I'll see ya tomorrow.
Oh, and if you like what you see, LEAVE A COMMENT! It's pretty rare that people leave blog love anymore (Yes, hello Pot, I'm Kettle) but I do so enjoy reading messages! Thanks everyone!

TGF time!!!

My fave time of the week is TGF time, You all know how munch I adore their images.... I'm sure of it. hahaha and I love to do their challenges.  i NEVER win, mind you, but I hope someday I'll get lucky!  I have gotten to be a guest designer for them, so that is good enought for me... I'll just keep playing along and someday I'll win the TGF lottery! ha ha ha  today the challenge was to use a Doily or Lace on your card.... well....... since I have not a single scrap of lace in this entire house (seriously, I need to put some on my shopping list huh?) I decided to go with a doily.... and I decided to use it as my backdrop.  This project is less of a card and more of a "hanging."  I used a piece of tape and stuck it to the mirror on my husbands side of the vanity... hahahah
.
Here's a close up of the sentiment.
Thanks for checking in, I'll see you all again real soon!

CPS 252 and a mouse

Ok, so my Pal did her card without me this week... but I took a page from her book and decided to combine two challenges.  This card is for the House Mouse challenge and also for CPS 252.  The CPS challenge was a sketch of course, and the House Mouse was to use only Black and White... I admit that I took a bit of artistic liberty on both, but that's the fun of papercrafting right?!?!?!?  Ok, gotta go do the challenge for TGF now.

Love

TGF requested we all make a card with the "love" theme.  I know that Valentine's day is coming, and I know everyone loves the sappy pink and white and red cards... well I hate to poo on the happy parade here, but I HATE that stuff.  I mean, I ca only take so much of it.  Ok, it's that time of year and everyone is ready for spring and we are all twitterpated with the thought of the commercial Hallmark holiday creeping up on us, and I have to admit, I do like to do a little something special for my hubbs on that day.  BUT.... and this is big.... I try to do it WITHOUT pink and red and all of that crud.  So, Instead, I make something from the heart and try not to make it overly mushy for my rough and tumble sort of hubbs! hahahah

So, here's my take on the TGF request.  It's not all lovie dovie, but I think it's dang cute.  I love bright colors, and I have to admit that I have a new found addiction to bakers twine.  Who knew?!?!?  I use it all of the time!!!! And my gazillion spools of beloved ribbons are collecting dust now. But I care not, this stuff is so fun and I just love how it is unobtrusive but bright and it totally goes with EVERY card! Yeay for Bakers Twine!!! hahahah

Ok, it's been a looooooonnngggggg day and I'm off to bed.  I hope you all have a good Valentine's day, I'm sure I'll get around to making that stereotypical card soon,  I'm just holding off for as long as I can!  I cave every year.... it's inevitable.

A glutton of a bear (CPS #251)

Here is a cute little Bear that I used for a new challenge that My Pal, Lena, told me about.  This is the web site to their blog: http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/  And they do weekly challenges.  This week was a sketch.  I flipped it sideways and here's what I came up with...

I just love how this card came out, bright and cheery and full of love! ha ha ha Well love of junk food! haha I think maybe this will end up going to my hubbs at some point, it's just so "him."
Off to do another card.  then it's off to bed....

Let's get sentimental

The challenge today on the farm fresh challenge blog was to get sentimental. That, my friends, I can do. Here's my NEW greeting farm stamp (omg he's so stinking cute) and my card for the challenge! See ya all soon!

Tgf rebel

The challenge at the greeting farm was a recipe. Pink, polka dots, and two kinds of ribbon. Omg!!! That's like my three favorite things ever!!!!! I can do this with my eyes closed. But wait... Upon further reading, it says "I bet I see a lot of cute girly cards." now that sounds like a challenge!!!!
Here's my NON- GIRLY recipe card:
