More MFP

Ok, one more.... what can I say, I'm on a roll...
The challenge on this one was to use your favorite technique.  I have so many favorites it's kinda hard to choose.  So i went with a few here....
I love ripping paper.... I don't know why, cathartic I guess.... who knows?  This is actually from a roll of wrapping paper that I got in the dollar bin at Target last week!  I'm going to go vintage this Christmas and wrap all my gifts in "newspaper" and red and white bakers twine.  I digress...
Aother of my favorite techniques is using multiple inks on one stamp.  I used my SU! Medallion with Basic Black and Rose Red.
And the last of my favorites here is the distressing of sorts on the gray card stock.  I achieve that by simply rubbing the edges of the paper over the open ink pad.... multiple times and sometimes i press down (like I did here) to get the ink to transfer further onto the paper.  I do this ALL THE TIME!!!!! Seriously, go back through my blog and look at how often I do it... seriously.
Ok, NOW it's time for bed.
Have a sweet day (night).

Case for MFP

Ok, so the challenge over at Marks Finest Papers was to CASE a card, any card! Well that just leaves the world wide open now, doesn't it?!?!?!  So where does a girl go when she needs INKspiration?  PINTEREST!!!!!!!!
Yes, I am an addict, I know!  But it's all in good fun, right? Lol! Here's a card I liked.  I've seen a lot of these Christmas trees, and I imagined they were made by some origami master somewhere and he shipped them to women all over the world to make their Christmas cards with.... BOY I WAS WRONG!  Seriously, this is like the easiest thing to do!!! Just cut a circle in half (I used a 5 1/4" circle) and then zig zag fold it.... really, that's it!
I don't have any texture folders for my big shot, so I used linen textured card stock, the paper is rich razzleberry from SU! the ink is Old olive.  That adorable bakers twine you see is Martha Stuart, and I hoard it... so don't even ask for my roll... hahaha!
ok... Time for Bed I say!
Have a sweet day!

A little Kraftin' in the mornin'

I went over to the Kraftin' Kimmi's blog this morning to see if they had any challenges going on... Guess what??? THEY DID! Since, budgets are tight these days, I figured it's better to feed my little stamping habit with WINNING stamps, rather than purchasing them.
The challenge was to "Paper piece" any stamp that they have.  Well, being as I don't actually OWN any of the KK stamps, that makes this challenge a bit more difficult.  As most of you know you need the stamp to paper piece something because you stamp it on plain card stock to color it, then again on patterned card stock to cut out the pieces that you want to layer on, thus: Paper piecing.  Uh-Oh! How am I going to do this....???
Think... Think... THINK!
PING! Light-bulb!!! I decided to pull out an image that a dear friend (Jodi) stamped for me to experiment with.  Since her little dress was so small, I figured I could get away with just cutting it out and implementing my "eyeball" technique. Lol!  Additionally, although it's not paper piecing per say, I used bakers twine to make her little skirt out of... Take a look.
After the addition of 75 billion flowers (yeah, I can be a hyperbolist at times) and 25 million crystals (oh and at least 100 thousand pop dots) I think that it's stinking cute!!!!
The fold is called "the twisted easel" fold and i made it out of plain 'ol GP white card stock.  The patterned pieces were all scraps that I had floating around from recent cards, so I can't tell you what they are, I think the greens are all from the botanicals pack I picked up at Michael's a few months ago, but I can't be sure.  The inks were SU! Pixie Pink (of course) and Green Galore. I colored the image with my trusty Prismacolor pencils and blended with my handy dandy bottle of OMS.  All the flowers are studio G, and the mini roses are from the dollar bins at Michael's as well (yeah for being frugal)!  The punch I used was a Martha Stuart border punch that I got from a Secret Sister over at SCS.
Ok, I have lots of stuff to get to today, being as my son turns 6 tomorrow (wow, how in the hey hey did THAT happen?!?!) and I have to run to the craft store to get some supplies to make his cupcakes and such.  I totally haven't even gotten him dressed yet, and it's nearly lunch time!  I didn't intend to spend 2 hours making this card, it just sorta got away from me! hahahah
As always, have a sweet day!

Sketch with a twist

Marks finest papers posts multiple challenges each week, one of which is a sketch with a twist. This weeks twist was to use lace, the photo of the sketch is below. My best friend (and cousin) Lena and I were challenging each other and decided to make a card using our Cricut machines. Here's the resulting project. I hope you like it.

All of the paper I used were scraps, so I can't tell you what brand they are, the stamps are from SU! "Eat Chocolate" and the ink is SU! Pixie Pink and Green Galore.

I made the chocolate store using the "Sweet Shop" cartridge from Cricut and cut it at 2". The twine is Martha Stuart and the lace was a gift! ha ha Gotta put all of those little notions to good use!

Ok, well after a long day of cleaning up after toddlers, this girl needs some chocolate, a good book, and BED!!! I usually sign off with "have a sweet day" but for some reason, that just doesn't seem to work so well right now... so how about....
Have Sweet Dreams!

A little late night TGF

It's been a while since I've participated in a Greeting Farm challenge, so I decided to check in over there. Do you know what I saw upon my arrival to their blog!?!?!? A challenge written just for me! It said "use bright colors!" Well sisters, that's just what I intend to do! Here's my BRIGHT card just for them! I used Creeper Lula and colored her with prismacolor pencils and OMS. I layered good old fashioned BASIC cardstock and a sheet of "mariposa" cardstock in purple damask. The distress inks are SU! Pacific point and Pixie Pink. The flowers are all studio G, the twine is SewEasy and the lollypop brads were a gift! Ha ha! Hope she's sweet enough for you! Thanks so much for stopping by, have a sweet day!

For a friend

Here's a cute little friend card for the marks finest papers challenge. Busy busy today so I have to run... Be back with more soon!

Chalk drawing

Yup, there was a challenge over at marks finest papers to use chalk on your card. So I made a chalk rubbing of their classic pickup truck image and place it on this card. Sorta reminds me of a photo negative. Cool huh?

One more

This one is for the sketch with a twist challenge. We had to use ribbon or string. That's right up my alley. Lol! I used the same stamp set that I just won from marks finest papers, that way I get TWO entries into the drawing! Woot woot! Ok, I have to go make dinner now, play time is over...

A classic

This is the stamp I won a couple of weeks ago from marks finest papers. I just love it! I don't have a lot of masculine stamps so this is perfect.

The challenge this week was back to nature and we had to use an image that has nature in it. With all the trees around this card, and the added flower embellishment, I thought this fit the bill.

See ya all soon.

Come on, sing it! You know you wanna!!!! Lol

When Kraftin Kimmie announced that the challenge was to use polka dots, I nearly jumped for joy!!! Yes, polka spots are my FAVE!!!! And KK stamps are my FAVE!!! And I'm so excited!!!!

I wanted to attempt something new, so my Pal (Lena) suggested a napkin fold. To which I replied "sure! No problem!" (um, yeah, right...) although the folding wasn't too bad... Embellishing was difficult. I didn't want to go overboard, but I wanted it to have bling! So, I think I reached a happy medium... Tell me what you think!

Thanks for stopping by! See ya soon!

Pink and yellow!

TGF has a Farm Fresh Friday challenge each week for prizes! Any chance to win a TGF stamp and you can count me in! This week: use pink and yellow on your card. Well, that's easy enough.
I figured I could try something new, since it's Sunday and I have no plans... So.... Behold: a diamond fold card with a dahlia folded rosette and lil miss birthday surprise Anya herself!
Yeay for trying new things!!!

Goin' Retro with TGF

Sundays rock!!!! I'm doing so many challenges today and having fun creating things that are a little outside my normal style.

The retro challenge at TGF was to use stars and stripes! Check and check! Lol! I used little Tank here because.... Well look at him!!! He's just so darn cute!!! He knows he's an all star, just ask him! Lol! (ok, so sometimes I talk to my stamps, don't tell me you've never done it!!!)

Anyways, here's Tank with all his stars and stripes to boot!

I'm on a roll!!!

Here's yet another challeng card for the speedy fox MFP challenge. It was a theme of "beach" for the simple salutations challenge thus time. I had this sticker with the definition of journey on it, stated in the simplest of terms. So I found it fitting to use for this challenge. I used Cheeky Beach from The Greeting Farm as my image, and since the premise of this challenge is simple, I stamped her in more mustard ink from SU. The striped paper represents the ocean and the peachy color ribbon the sand. I think it's pretty dang cute, if I do say so myself. Lol. Thanks for stopping by!

Catching up with a fox!

Yeah, I was feeling behind on the marks finest papers challenges (aka:speedy fox and friends challenges) so I decided to combine two. The sketch with a twist (use three patterned papers) and a masculine birthday card. I believe this satisfies both challenges! Woot woot!
Now, what else should I do????? I LOVE Sundays!

A little morning vacay...

I realized thus is the last day to enter the marks finest papers vacation challenge. So here's my little vacay card. I decided on a gate fold mainly because I am tired if single fold cards, and secondly because I need to make a habit of decorating the inside of my cards. Lol. So grab a cup of coffee and head out to the swing set for a little vacation on memory lane with me.

Three in one.

Ok, so sometimes I combine challenges, use one card to satisfy the requirements of two challenges in one... Today, is a triple threat! Ha ha ha! Two are from Marks Finest Papers, use only blue and green, and the step fold card, the other is from Sparkle Creations; use one of the stamps they released in their first year. Check, check, and check. I'm good to go!

I took a bunch of pictures of it because I couldn't find a background that showed the clear card stock very well. I hope you can see it in one of these shots! Lol

Now it's off to the movies with my DH, we are going to see Ted! Woot woot!

Poor 'lil lion...

I was up quite early this morning, no fault of my own, because my little 10 pound beast (yeah, my yorkie) decided he was hungry at o' dark-thirty! So I pulled out my tablet to surf.... I found such an a-pri-po challenge, I just had to participate! Marks finest papers said to use an animal and keep it simple... Here's my card:

Kraftin Kimmie Fave!

He challenge at Kraftin Kimmie was to use your favorite image of theirs. Ummm....problem! They have WAY TOO MANY CUTE STAMPS to choose just one favorite!!!!!!!! So, of course, I went with one that included.....CAKE!!!! Awwww yeah! If you know me, you k ow that I adore anything with cupcakes in it, so this image could be my alter ego.

I also used this card to submit my application to be on the KK DT! Wish me luck! I'm so excited, man I'd LOVE to be a part of their DT!!!!

Retro TGF challenge

To be honest with you, I don't even know where I for this piece of paper. I know this is Anya doing yoga, but I've had this image on this piece of paper for over a year now (maybe two or three). So when I saw the retro challenge, and my Pal an I were having a stamp date (long distance of course) I decided it was a good time to put little miss Anya to work! So... I give you yoga Anya, basking in the summer sun!

A sketch with a twist!

Marks finest papers is now offering a sketch challenge, and it's got a twist! Love that! This time it was to add a button to your sketch card.... So here it is! Simple, and oh so cute! Yeay!  This sketch card also satisfys that challenge over at the Feelin Sketchy Blog (http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com/2012/07/week-15-card-sketch-new-sponsor.html)  I'd love to win the Sparkle Creations stamps they have up for grabs this week!!!

Farm fresh Friday

Ok, short post because I'm on a deadline here! I only have half an hour to get this linked to the challenge!!! Here the farm fresh Friday challenge for the greeting farm. Use four layers and a ribbon or a button! Yeah, that's my kind if challenge!

White on white

Kraftin kimmie challenged everyone this week to make a white on white card. I managed to find wine white card stock and some white buttons and I was in business!!!! Yeay!

A cool drink you say?

House mouse and friends Monday challenge was to use one of their images with a cool drink for the hot summer.... Can do! Here my favorite lil bear with his pile of pizzas and his soda pop fizzing away. I also used a red and blue color combo to satisfy the challenge over at marks finest papers/fox and friends. Happy weekend everyone!!

It's been a while

Life gets in the way sometimes and you lose sight of ..well..everything. So I'm back... Doing things that I like, love, and enjoy. Stamping is near the top of that list! Here's a card I made for the marks finest papers challenge!

Recycle the Kimmie!

The Challenge at Kraftin Kimmie was to re-purpose something.  You know, going free by recycling something on your card.  So… I used an old playing card (the Joker) and added some scraps of vintage casino paper.  I dressed it up with Polka Dots, Colored my Moonlight Whispers kiddo with Verathin pencils, and Ta Daaaaaa:

Ok, going to search for more challenges to do with my Pal.  We’ve gotta get our INK on! ha ha ha

…and it even comes with Tea inside! I know just the person to send this to.  I hope that it will brighten her day.  Ok, I have to go post this on SCS now.  Talk to you all later, oh and leave a comment… be social… I really do read EVERY SINGLE COMMENT!!!

Kraftin Kimmie Sketch Challenge

I was able to find a little time last night to do a challenge with my Pal, Lena.  We decided to do the Kraftin' Kimmie Sketch challenge.  They have a lot of exciting things going on over there.... today is release day over there and they are doing a big blog hop with PRIZES!!! check it out!
Here's my card for the challenge:

New baby for TGF

I was surfing challenge blogs this morning over coffee so that my Pal, Lena, and I could have a stamping date tonight.... I happened across the Greeting Farm's "Farm Fresh Challenge Blog" (one of my very first stops!!!) and saw that I only had 2 hours to enter a card.... so here's my quick one hour card.... so that I had time to write this post and link to their site....
Also,  I spilled OMS all over my already injured hand..... so I had to run it under cool water for a while so that I didn't get a chemical burn.... then what did I do?  Yup, you guessed it!!!! i did it AGAIN!!!! Grrrrr!!!!!  So, back to the sink for me for another round of rinsing and soap and a good hand washing.... it still tingles a bit, but I had to get my card linked, so I think I'm off to rinse yet again, just to make sure.

I hope you all like my card... I don't know anyone who is having a baby right now..... but hey, I'll be ready IF someone does!!! ha ha ha

Happy crafting!
