Nerds are BACK!

Ok, ok, ok... those of you who know me well know that I'm a total nerd.  When it comes to a lot of things I completely Nerd out.  But, even in school I was a complete nerd.  I did the homework of most of our high school class over the weekend because they were all out partying and i was cracking the books.  Seriously, I loved it... I knew that I was good at it, so I enjoyed doing it.  Writing papers and solving math equations, learning a new language, it was all just fascinating to me.  So, when Kimmie posted that the Nerd set was coming back, I squealed with delight!
NERD IS THE WORD!

Wonderful (social) Wednesday

Man alive I spend a lot of time on Social Media... like my phone is permanently glued to my hand and my laptop is always near.  It's nice to unplug every once in a while, but I really miss all of my friends when I do "unplug."  It's just the society we live in today, don't fight it.... it's all gunna be ok.

With all of that being said, I was inspired to use little Miss Social Sally today for my anything goes card for the very last Wonderful Wednesday of the month.  I can't believe that July is gone and August is upon us.  Soon the kids will be going back to school and the grind of the "normal" will be back upon us.  I'm sooooo excited! ha ha ha!

Ok, so here's what I did;
This card is 5x7 and I used The Paper Studios pink textured card stock, the black and white layers are Recollections card stock. The yellow was a scrap, I have no clue what it is! Ha ha ha, just keepin' it real! The DSP is from Echo Park and I Adore it!!! I took the sentiments that came with the Social Sally stamp and inked them and put them inside all of the little thought bubbles. Then the flowers are of course from Wild Orchid Crafts. Gosh I love their flowers! That funky paperclip I got at Wal Mart like 2 years ago, they were on clearance and I thought they were super neat! I colored up Sally with my copic on Express-it blending stock.  Here's the colors:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Coat: Y17, Y15, Y13, Y00
Pants: C5, C3, C2, C0
Bench: 100, W9, W7, W5, W3, W1, W0
Hair: RV66, RV19, RV06, RV09, RV02
Eyes: B41, B63, B24, B93, G00, BG000

I hope that you totally love this and that it inspires you to join in our Wonderful Wednesday Anything Goes challenge this week! You have precisely one week from today to get your cards entered over on the Kraftin Kimmie Blog, so lets see what ya got! Woohoo!

Ok, I need more coffee, and I gotta find my phone, oh there it is, on my desk, next to my computer.... sheesh.... yeah, I NEED more coffee! hahahaha!  Tootles!

I like big cups....

...and I cannot lie, you other brothers can't deny.....
Ummm.... ok, I better stop right there... he he he! In the interest of not offending anyone I'll cease my singing and go on about the crafting! Probably a good plan huh?

Well, the day is upon us... it's SATURDAY! I sorta HATE Saturdays to be perfectly honest.... I feel lost for things to do and I feel like I gotta entertain my family and be... you know... a productive member of society.  I'm perfectly happy on any given week day, sitting in my craft room, just coloring away and singing along with Maroon 5 or something similar (and by similar I mean something completely random that i'm not going to admit to so I won't put it in writing). On the bright side though, Saturday means another Saturday Challenge over at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps! Now there's something I can get excited about!  So.... Guess what? I'm the HOSTESS this week, meaning that I got to CHOOSE THE THEME! Woot woot! Can ya guess what I chose? Uh huh!
YOUA RE CHALLENGED TO USE A RETIRED STAMP!
There's been so much buzz lately about all of the older retired KKS images that I thought it would be fun to see ya ya got!  So dust off those old rubbers girls and get to crafting.  Here's the one I chose to use..... (please refer to the song above.... hehehehehe I know ya wanna sing it!) :
This is normally where i'd list for you the Copic markers that I used to color this image, but I was so excited when I colored it that I forgot to make a note of what I used. so.... immmm... yeah.
The papers are from Doodlebug as are the enamel dots and the coffee cup paperclip.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The ribbon is from Recollections.
The Die I used is from Gina Marie Dies.
...and the image.... oh that wonderful image is a girl after my own heart, her name is "I like big cups" from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.

Ok, so go forth my crafty peeps and get inking up those retired stamps.  I can't wait to see what you make!  Please be sure to post your creations in the Krafty Friends FB group and don't forget to enter them in the contest on the KKS Blog.  Me? Yeah I'm heard out to get a cup of coffee.... what can I say? I love that stuff! Delicious! Tootles!

Forget about Christmas in July...

I know, I know, I know... BAH HUMBUG!
But seriously people, everyone is already doing that Christmas in July thing... we're forgetting something seriously important here.... HALLOWEEN!  I mean, since I was little I've always LOVED Halloween.... but NOT in the "normal" ways.  I am NOT big on candy, don't get me wrong, I love me some York peppermint patties, and I LOVE milky way midnights (OMG YUM), but..... and this is a very large but..... I HATED going out and going Trick-or-treating. Just wasn't my thing.  So, in what was did I love halloween? I'll explain, ...... DUDE..... It's the one day a year that you get to all out dress up for no good reason and spend the entire day as something totally fictional!  How is that not the MOST AWESOME THING EVER?!?!?!?!?!?

So, with all of that tangent off of my chest... let's get to the card shall we? He he he! So, it's Wonderful Wednesday and that means time for an ANYTHING GOES challenge over at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.  I love anything goes challenges because you can really show off your creativity! Here's the deal... I wanted to take a "Normal" stamp and make it into something totally NOT normal. Behold: I give you..... drum roll..... ANGIE as a COFFEE ZOMBIE!
Copics used:
Skin: C5, C3, C1, C0 and Colorless Blender
Hair: G99, YG67, G05, YG06, YG13, YG23, and YG00
Bathrobe: V09, V06, V04, V01, V000
Cup and hair clips: R85, R83, R81

Come on now, how can you NOT smile when you see these silly monkeys?!?!?!

I used the Oval Stitched dies from Gina Marie, and various shades of yellow card stock from various companies. I used some Yellow raffia type ribbon from my friend Leah, and attached it all to a large goldtoned paperclip. He is of course stamped on Express it blending stock and colored in my Copic markers. Day 2 of amazing Peeks for KKS

Oh yeah, I just KNEW i'd see ya back here for day 2! Uh huh! Well after the awesomeness that you saw yesterday, why wouldn't you hop around for day 2? Ok... check it out.....
This, my Krafty friends, is Paulina! Isn't she adorable?!?!?!?! EEEeeeeeekkkkkk!!!!!
Ok so as usual I colored her up on some Express-it blending stock and I totally didn't keep track of the markers I used because..... I have a good reason, so hear me out, because..... we all know that I NEVER do pastel colors. So I had no idea whatsoever what I was doing, so I was grabbing markers left and right and using a tiny touch here and there and then blending it out and then grabbing more.  By the time I was finished my entire craft room had exploded, I even had markers on the floor under my desk.  It was a hot mess and it was a ton of fun and i IMMEDIATELY set to cleaning it all up. Ha ha ha! I can tell you that the flowers were all purchased from Wild Orchid Crafts though, does that help? he he he!

Well, day 3 is going to be super cute, so I better see you beck here tomorrow.  Don't forget to hop around to all the Dt and guest blogs today and check out the amazing things that are posted... seriously.... Paulina has a super badass friend and you've just gotta see her!
