The same, but different

Ok, the challenge was to use an image in different ways on the inside and outside of your card.... so, here's the outside:

And here's the inside:
As you can see, I used the cake on top of the counter, and then I used the little girls head, and added a thought bubble that says "wishing you the sweetest day ever!" I love making this little kitchen 3-D card... it's so much fun!!!! Ok... one more to go, then I'm all caught up! Yeay!

Just hangin' in there....

So, the challenge here was to make a card using the phrase "Hang in there." I did, ha haha ha. I've has this stamp for a few months now, and never used it, so I thought I'd build a card around him. sooooooo cute! I also had these tiny scraps of shimmery, sheer blue ribbon, and I thought they matched perfectly! Ok, off to make more!!!!

Recipes for a card? Seriously? ok so here's the list? 5x5 card, 3 circles, 2 squares, ribbon, sentiment of your choice. Ok let's make sure I got it. So, the Hibiscus print paper is 5 x 5. Check. 3 yellow circles with flip flops on them. Check. 2 squares and the girl and the one above her with the sun in it, outlined with blue, check. Ribbon is the straps on the flip flops, check. The sentiment of my choice is the little sun that says "Here comes the sun." Check!!!! Yeay, recipe complete! Yeay me! I can follow a recipe, oh wait, I'm a baker, I follow recipes all the time.... damn. ha ha ha Time to go watch the UFC fights! Go Carwin and GSP!!!!!

I'm touched, and overlapped too!

OK, so 365 really set forth a challenge today. We had to have at least 8 elements, not counting the background, that had to overlap or touch with at least 2 other elements on the card. Now, after processing this for a bit, and rolling it over in my brain for a few minutes, I think that I got my mind wrapped around what I was supposed to do. So I stamped the train tracks on some satin ribbon and called that element one.... creative huh? so that I could make everything touch at least that as one contact. ha ha ha! sweet! Then I stamped and cut out each train car and the engine and the caboose. Overlapped them with each other as I attached them, sweet! Then...... in each car there is 2 sets of Easter eggs or gifts, so I think I got it covered! Yeay me! ha ha ha So I can't count, but I'm sure I have enough elements to get it covered! Then I added the Easter grass and the puffs of smoke for my sentiment and called 'er a day! See y'all soon!

Make my own what????!???!?!??!?!

Seriously? 365 Cards today wants us to make our own embellishments..... specifically, a brad. I can barely make these cards, let alone making my own embellishments to put on it... so.... hummm..... (scratches head) OK, I got it... I took a plain brad... put versamark ink on it... dunked itin gold embossing powder, then heated it.... holy crap those little things get HOT!!!! wow.... OK, no likie. Hummm.... more versamark, and green this time.... hot hot hot hot hot!!!! yeowza! ok, I'm liking it... now what do I do with it? Looks like the center of a flower, how un-origional of me... oh well... guess I should go full tilt with this thing and make my own flower too, oh scallop punch, where are you??? Got it out... and...ummm... why did I think I could make my own flower? Geeze... what a card? OK... guess I just wrinkle the paper and shove this brad through it.... that sorta looks cool.... I like it... OK, I can now make my own embellishments! awesome..... think I'll just keep buying them though..... what do ya think? ha ha ha can you tell it's raining here? I'm going completely crazy! ha ha ha have a good day!

Stencil it!

Yup, you guessed it, the challenge was to use a stencil. This is the ONLY stencil i could find! So I had to make it work.... hummm.... well I found this little sick bear and I thought, I need a few get well soon cards.... you know, like one! ha ha ha So here it is! In all of it's stenciled glory! I added a few flowers (because everyone sends flowers when you sick) and voila! Card complete. Now it's off to house cleaning... ugh... I think I'm gunna be sick! ha ah ah ah ah ha ha ha ha ha ha

Can't see the forrest through the trees!

Well the challenge today was to use at least 10 different patterned papers.... and since I'm on the Ward Digi DT, I figured I should use his new little 'shroom house, soooo stinkin' cute! So.... here it is!!! i used the patterned papers to make trees, then I used a chipboard key and a cute little sign that says "Happy new home" on it to complete the card! I think it's cute! hahahaha OK, I didn't do the card from yesterday, so I'm going to see what I can come up with!

From the looking glass

The challenge from 365 was to do a card that had something to do with Alice in Wonderland.... so here it is....
I wanted this card to be more eccentric, but I guess I just can't get in that frame of mind right now.... hummm... what's wrong with me? ha ha ha
Anyways, I always think of a key when I think of Alice in wonderland, maybe because she had such a hard time figuring out that all she needed was a key to get out of that tiny room... who knows... but this card is set up on that premise. The dark blue paper is up on pop dots to add that dimension to the mad hatter running away from us... the white rabbit is reminding us that we're late... so inside the card it says "I'm late, I'm late, I'm late, Happy Belated Birthday!"
That's it for now... it's off to the gym!

SSS is here again...

Super Sketchy Sunday! Yeay! hahahaha I like doing sketches because I like to see what others come up with.... it's fun to see how very diverse an array of cards one can get from a sketch.
And here's my card.
This is the very first Sympathy card I have ever made, and I though, gee when I'm sad, I don't want a bunch of drab colors and stuff, I want something bright and cheery. So, that's what I tried to do here. Hope you all like... Now I must go have another cup of green tea! ha ha ha TTYL

Rattle Card

OK, Last card today.... 365 said to make a card that made noise! I have a friend who is preggers, so I thought of a baby rattle! Here you go:
Obviously she does not know what she is having... so it is a gender friendly card! hahahaha up in the corner it says "Sweet Little Baby" but it is un-readable from the pic.
OK, I'm all done for the night, I'm exhausted. Had cakes to do today and gift baskets to deliver, and I think my little man is finally well because he was bouncing off the walls (with minimal coughing , thank goodness)!!! So, I'm going to put him in the bath and hope that he conks out soon, because I think that I might! Ha ha ha Talk to you all soon.... Can't wait for SSS tomorrow! I love Sunday mornings, Cards, and tea and me time! Yeay!

The touch, the feel of cotton, the fabric of our lives....

Yup, Cotton. That's the kind of girl I am!!! hahaha I'm "sew" not someone who could make a dress, but when faced with this challenge to be inspired by cotton, the first thing I thought of was sewing a dress. Go figure.... Maybe because my mother can sew and she is going to make me a summer dress soon. Perhaps.... ha ha ha Anyways... I used Tote-ally Tess here and some stamp set that I got at JoAnne's fabric store. I decided to go black and white, and add all the little elements in color... I think it worked. The "cotton" ribbons on top I just happened to pick up on different days at Mike's not realizing I had the same patterns, just in pink and blue. ha ha ha Oh well... I think they worked well together on this card! Enjoy... one more to go!

Plaid, Paisley, Gingham, Houndstooth, Toile!?!?!?!?

Seriously....I had to google some of these to make sure I even knew what they looked like. ha ha ha OK, so, I had a paisley stamp, check. I have plaid paper, check. And these cute little kitchen stickers that my pal gave me.... Just happened to have a gingham background on the recipe box sticker!!!! we're in business!!! Yeay! Here's how I mashed them all into one card.

I hope you like, now it's on to catch up with the other cards I missed this week!

Opposites

Ok, so here's yesterdays card, that I didn't make until just now! ha ha ha I was on the phone with my sister telling her that I needed to make an "opposites" card for the 365 challenge, and that I didn't wanna do cats and dogs because most people seemed to be doing that (although I'm totally in love with the one by Tracey, soooooo stinking adorable, you can see it here). After her rendition of Katy Perry's "hot and cold," she suggested doing the tortoise and the hare. That's a classic set of opposites.... so I set out to scour the Internet for a pic of the tortoise and the hair. I colored this on my computer photo program and stamped the sentiment that seemed too perfect. To me, it totally looks like that rabbit is sitting on the stump saying those exact words to that poor little turtle, I guess if you've read the story you'd know that that bunny is soooo gunna eat his words! ha ha ha Ok, so now it's off to re-organize my office, I will get it done today, I swear! ha ha ha (well maybe tomorrow) Talk to you all later...

Want S'more?

Today at 365 we had to decorate a 2x2 inch piece of card stock on our card. That is the bear! hahahah I simply embossed the s'mores on the card with iridescent ice and then tied the ribbon and voila! that's a card! hahaha Now... I get to re-arrange my office! Yeay!!!

The Easter Bunny has arrived!

OK so not really, and if he brought me this, well lets just say I'd not be happy with him! hahahaha I made this card for the ad inspired challenge from 365, hop on over and check it out. I had this super cute idea of putting an Easter basked on the card, 3-D style, so that I could put a little chocolate bunny in it!!!!! awwww..... (say it with me) however, this is how it turned out...
want waahh wahh.... ha ha ha I mean, it's not horrible, it was just sooooo much cuter (did I make up a word again?) in my brain! Oh well, you can't win 'em all! Until tomorrow folks. I gotta make a Costco run today! TTFN

Hello Cupcake

Ok, so after a super long night, I was hoping that my sick little guy would sleep in..... NO SUCH LUCK! ha ha ha So this card got done in stages. I picked the paper, checked on the kid, found the ribbon and digi, checked on kiddo, cut out digi, checked on kid, colored, checked on kid, glued stuff in place, kid, picture, kid, ..... now I'm finally posting it like 3 hours later! hahahaha So here's the Sketch:

And here's my card:

I think it turned out rather well, all things considered. All of you know that when you get up in the middle of making a card, it's sorta like de-railing a train.... woot woot.....crash!!!!!! You sit back down and...ummm... what was I thinking here? hummm..... ha ha ha That's totally how it was each time I had to go get something for Evan, or hold him until he fell back asleep or something. So, like I said.... all things considered... ha ha ha I think this little girl holding the cake is soooo stinkin' cute, you'll be seeing a lot of her in my cards in the year to come! ha ha ha As my crazy morning wore on, I picked up anything I could to get this card done, so she's colored with a combo of chalks, markers, colored pencils, and crayons!!! (Crayola is huge in our house! ha ha ha and they all just happened to be scattered on the floor in my office, so I used them! ha ha ha) Well someone is begging for Fishie crackers, so my waitressing continues.... thank goodness I can type fast, or this post would be a long time in coming too! ha ha ha Happy Sunday to you all!

Ears to this little thankful Monkey!

This cute little sock monkey is super thankful for his Easter basket I guess.... ha ha ha Today's challenge at 365 was to paper piece a part of your image to make it pop.... I obviously paper pieced his ears! haahaha then i curled them down a bit for effect. Then I added the Easter basket, sliced a little hole in it so that I could put his hand through the handle, then I put it on a pop dot so it jumped off the page! I tried to use my lighting to make shadows so you all could see they were lifted, but I'm no photographer.

Little Evan is still super sick!!! They say it gets worse before it gets better, today he's worse, so theoretically tomorrow he should be better right? I don't know how much more I can take.... I need SOME sleep! Maybe my cards are way off the mark now, but wait until I have 2 or 3 more days of little to no sleep, then you'll really see something "special!" hahahahaha

OK have to go on a chocolate milk run! Talk to you all soon! Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Welcome Emily, thanks for Joining my Blog!!!!!

Sweet as a little strawberry

Circles, circles, and more circles. I feel like I'm running in circles today. With a little sick man on the couch, and so much to do with paperwork for my trademark and opening my Sweet Sentiment business... it's just nutty!
Well anyway, 365 cards today told us to use at least 20 circles on our card... so here it is.... obviously there's more than 20 on here, but hey, I didn't feel like counting, and I wanted to be safe! ha ha
I found this super sweet paper in the stack of scraps that I have that seems to be taking over my office slowly, then I happened to find the sheet of coordinating stickers too! What luck! That was as far as I had gotten when I was called in to take card of little Evan's every whim and re-start his Thomas movie. Then it was back to my card.... I sat down and colored this little chef digi, and just as I had finished that, it was back to waitressing! Then.... I stamped the sentiment and added the sticker and found the ribbon, then it was time to call the city about the paperwork I needed to submit (and the fees, oh the fees!!!). After talking to the super nice girls at the city, then I had to call the trademark dude, and submit my logo (and the fees, ouch!). Then it was back to laying out the card.... after playing with it (a bunch) I finally put the puzzle pieces into place. Back to check on Evan. Then I was finally able to complete this card. ha ha ha See, running in circles! Inside the card has another circle, it's a strawberry sticker that says "Sweet as a little strawberry" around it, and I mounted it on a square of the same paper that the chef is mounted on. DONE! yea!
I don't mean to come off as whiny or complaining, sometimes running in circles is good! I've gotten a lot accomplished thus far, so I'm going to keep with my circle pattern and see what else I can accomplish! ha ha ha circles to all of you! TTFN

A Bunny-rific Landscape for Spring

Ok, so when I saw that today at 365 Cards was all about landscapes, I totally HAD to use this paper! soooo stinkin' cute!!! I made this into a fun little springtime thank you note by adding the tag at the top, stamping "Thank You" and the little scrolly thingies (yeah, that's a technical term) on it. I thought the little bees looked like they needed to be the banner bearers too, so I tied a little rope to the sign and attached it to the little Bees. Cute little guys huh? then for 3-D effect, i used little flowers, and attached them with brads so that the flowers popped more! Lastly, I put a little button in the rabbit's hands on top of his flower. Now, if that's not a bunny-rific landscape, I don't know what is!! hahahaha Happy Easter to everyone!!!

Now it's off to bed, as my little guy is sick yet again. Temp is 103 and he's got a cough.... kid germs are the worst, they share a lot!!! hahahah I can only imagine how it's gunna be when he starts preschool in the fall. ugh.... Night, Night....

Purple, Orange, and Blue?

That was the color scheme for the 365 card challenge today... hummm.... *scratches head*. The joke was going around about Pan's "special" coffee.... so I decided I really needed some of that stuff!!!! Oh Pam????? Shall we coffee??? Hahahaha that was my inspiration here! This is the first cup of coffee I've had in 2 whole, entire weeks!!!! yeay me for kicking the habit! But I just HAD TO HAVE A CUP to get through this challenge..... Look, it's helped! hahahah I used super dark purple paper for the background, and went with neon orange for the middle layer, finished that off with some distressed looking light blue and, voila! I had my colors, now for the hard part. My Pal image swapped me a whole bunch of these "Love you Latte" coffee cups, so I went with that, used my son's Crayola pip squeaks to add a bit of color, and used my Lovely Lilac stampin spot from SU to distress the edges of the white card stock. I've had these alphabet stickers since the dawn of time, so I figured why not actually use them for once? The blue sentiment on top actually said, "Shall we dance?" But I wasn't into dancing this morning, so I cut off the dance part and there we have it. I added a purple bow ('cause what's a card without a bow?) and sat back to see if I needed anything else...... I guess not.....

OK, now I'm off to make some breakfast..... I'm thinking french toast.... anyone with me?!?!?! See y'all tomorrow!!!

Ward Digis

Hey there, see, I told y'all I'd be back today!!! hahahaha So here's a card from the Ward Digi collection, you can visit their site this week and get a free digi!!!! Hop on over there ASAP!!! this is just one of the super cute digis that the extremely talented Anthony has drawn! What talent?!?!?!? Stay tuned for more Ward Digis (I'm on their DT!!!)! TTFN

What a Wonderful World

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky, are also on the faces of the people passing by.....

I used that line in the uber famous Louie Armstrong some "What a Wonderful world" as my inspiration for this card. Why? Because that was the challenge given to us today by 365 Cards!!! Duhhh!!!! hahahahaah I absolutely adore Louie Armstrong, and could listen to him sing for hours!!!!!!!! So I tried to do well on this challenge.... Here it is:
OK, gotta run, more cards later today from the Ward Digis collection! Have a Wonderful Day!!

Out of this world!

365 Cards today told us to think "Out of this world." So I did... what is more outer space than a rocket???? Or how about that cupcake eating Alien?!?!? hahahahaha What does one do when they don't have any "outer spac-y" stamps, why she creates a rocket of her own of course!!! I even put candy in the little rocket (tootsie rolls) for the Birthday Boy (or Girl I guess). Hope you all like my card! See y'all tomorrow...

Super Sketchy Sunday, ouch!

At first site, my card doesn't seem to fit the sketch. However, if you turn your head to the right (go on, do it) then you will see... hahahah ouch huh? Don't hold it there too long or you'll injure yourself!!! hahahaha This was a super hard sketch for me to do....

But here it is anyways.... for the X's I decided to "distress" the paper, they say these things are open to interpretation!!!! So I tool a little (OK, A LOT) of artistic leeway on that! hahahaha what's a card without a ribbon too? so I added that.... other than that... it's EXACTLY like the sketch, right?????? OK, as Evan says.... "or maybe not!" I tried, that's all I can do..... now it's off to outer space for the next 365 challenge......

Mulit-colored!

Look at all the pretty springtime colors!!!! ha ha ha I HATE working with pastels, so I sorta push the envelope on how "bright" my pastels get! This card is for 2 challenges.... 365 cards today says to use multiple colors of ink on one stamp. As you can see... I did that.... twice!!! hahahaha and over at sprINKles the challenge was to use pastel colors for your card. I'm sure this is a touch bright for the pastel pallet, but this is about as close as it gets for me!!! hahahaha Well, my hubbs is finally off work for a night, so I'm off to hang out with him and watch some good 'ol "My Name is Earl." I could use a little mindless TV right now, I'm sorta burnt out this week. Hopefully Super Sketchy Sunday will revive me tomorrow! See y'all soon!

Fancy Folds

On 365 today we were supposed to do Fancy Folds! I saw this template for a pyramid, and just HAD to do it!!!! Those of you who know me, know that I'm CRAZY about Egyptian stuff!!!!! I'm constantly searching for Egyptian stamps! So if anyone has any, please let me know! Anyways, I made the Pyramid and used my favorite stamp (my only Egyptian one thanks to my Pal) to stamp on the sides of it using chocolate chip and Pacific Point. I used the "Friend. Good." stamp from the smarty pants set from SU, just because he doesn't look like he has a lot to say.... don't you agree? It's filled with my favorite Easter candy, Cadbury Mini Eggs!!! I LOVE IT!!!! Thanks for looking! Now it's a cup of tea and off to the gym...someday I'll get skinny!!!!! (After all the Cadbury Mini Eggs are gone of course) ha ha ha!

Cut it up

Well, little Evan-man is sitting here playing his Leapster, so I figured I had time to make one more card before he got bored! hahahah So I went over to sprINKles to find a challenge that I hadn't yet done. I found this "Cut it up" challenge. Basically, you take a large image, and "cut it up" to make the card. No other specifications were listed. So why not, right? Here's my card:
I seem to be on some sort of black and white kick today, so I tried to add some color to make it more.....um....cheerful!!! hahaha I guess all these dark clouds in the sky have me feeling a little gloomy. Ho hum... Maybe it's lack of food, I need to go get some breakfast!!!! TTFN!

Dinner is served....

Today at 365 cards is a white space challenge. I do pretty well with these... because the sketch tells you EXACTLY where you can decorate and where you cannot! ha ha ha So it's sort of a no-brainer.... so, here's the sketch:

I've been meaning to invite my parents over for dinner, so here's my card/invitation:

I think that I'm also going to use this as a sprINKles challenge: to embellish an embellishment! hahahah I don't believe that I've ever dome that! I used the ribbon from the cover and hung that super cute little kitchen sign off of it, and then tied a tiny bow to jazz it up a bit! I love this invitation!!!!! Thank goodness that I only have to make one of them!!!
Now, what to make for dinner.... hummmm.....

String Art? This early?!?!?

Day 3 of 365 cards calls for string art! I read that and was thinking : String art? Really? This early in the morning? But I haven't even had my tea yet?!?!?!!! OK fine!!! So here's what I came up with. I think it turned out rather well, all things considered. Ha ha ha I used 40 brads on this card, yup count 'em, 40!!! I guess I was suffering from a brad surplus, thanks Pam for curing me of that wee problem! hahahaha It was a fun card, tough to do this early in the morning, but now I face a tougher task... THE GYM!!!! ugh! Enjoy the string art!!!!!

I'm so jealous of Markie's Mom

OK, so I'm back with the sprINKles challenge. We were supposed to go to Markie's mom's collection of cards over at SCS and find something to CASE. The challenge was called "When I grow up I wanna have Markie's Mom's supplies!" Amen sistah!!!!! ha ha ha I swear, if you get a chance... go and check out this woman's cards! She's AMAZING! I can tell you right now that I'll be back there CASE-ing lots more stuff!!!! WOW!!!! OK so her card is above, and my card is down here....

I think I did OK, for being a novice! ha ha ha I love the shirt on the card, and I learned to fold those long about 6th grade or so.... it was a real stretch to try and remember just how to fold them, but after a few tries, it all came rushing back to me! Whew! My card is not nearly embellished as hers is, but hey, I'm on a budget here! hahahaha When I grow up, I wanna have TWICE the supplies as Markie's Mom!!!!!

See y'all tomorrow!

Silver, Circle, and pearls...Oh my!!!

You guessed it... 365 Cards today wants us to use the items listed above.... I'm reminded of a board game that was popular like 10 years ago where each card had 3 items on it and your job was to be the first to guess the common link between them. These 3 objects didn't seem to go together for me, but I guess I found a common link! A girly card, of course! ha ha ha
Here's my creation: OK so the circles are obvious, the silver is the ribbon and the 2 big brads, and the pearls, well those are the stamp with the huge diamond on them!!! who wouldn't love a string of pearls with a rock that size on it???? ha ha ha wow!
Now I'm off to try and make a card for the sprinkles challenge.... see ya soon!

Day Numero Uno at 365

Day number 1 at 365 Cards! Wooo hooo..... I hope that I can do an entire year, but we'll see! hahaha Anyways.... Today we were supposed to use the color scheme above to make our card. My mom needed a card for her brother for his birthday, and I thought that those colors looked masculine. So it all worked out! Here's Bobo's card:

Why not start the year off with a bit of sarcasm? ha ha ha I love it! OK well, just got home from the gym and I'm totally exhausted, I need a brownie and some coffee!!!! Stat!!! ha ha ha See y'all tomorrow!
