A little Friendly Challenge

So, I have this Canadian friend, her name is Leah, and she and I chat a lot.... well.... we message a lot! Ha ha ha! Thank goodness for technology (most of the time)!  So, in the course of our chatting we decided to challenge one another to a little Friendly Crafty Challenge.  It goes like this:  Each month one of us is to mail the other some element for a card (or other project) to use.  It could be something we love, or something we hate, or whatever.  But the challenge is that we BOTH have to make a project using that element.

So, here is my first project using the item that I mailed to the great white north!

You can pop on over to Leah's blog and check out her post as well (http://odetopaper.blogspot.com/2016/08/a-fun-friendly-challenge.html) to see what you think is the element that we both used! Comment on both of our blogs and let us know!

Hope you all have a crafty day!

Fireflies at the beach!

Well hello there Fireflies! I'm so excited about the August challenge.... it's "A day at the beach!"  (You can find more info about the challenge here.)  Being as I moved from California to Idaho about a decade ago, it's been a while since I've seen the beach.  (Insert sad face here.)  But with the challenge for Firefly Crafts, I can remember what it was like to be there! (smile) So, here's my project:
Items Used:

I ADORE the wooden embellishments from Firefly, they are so awesome and add just a touch of whimsey.  I used a ceramic plate and my Distress Ink minis and literally just rubbed them on the plate, then i spritzed it with water and laid the yardstick on it, squished it around a little and then pulled it up and set it to dry.  Once dry (well mostly dry, because I'm totally impatient like that) I stamped some words using a stamp from Kitchen Sink (also found in the Firefly Craft store, but out of stock at the moment) .
I rarely do the mixed media type of cards, so this is WAY outside of my comfort zone.  I'll have to keep practicing! ha ha ha
Happy crafting Fireflies!!!

Firefly Anything Goes Challenge

Hey fireflies!!!! Here for the very first Anything Goes challenge?  Well here's my little card made with TGF latte Anya.  She's so stinking cute!
Here are the items I used:

Thanks for stopping by and buzz on over to www.fireflycrafts.net and check out all of the super cool stuff there.  Then, make a card using anything from the shop (or a brand we carry) as the main component and add it to the Facebook group album for the anything goes challenge!

Hope to have you join us.... have a crafty day!

Wonderful Wednesday Challenge

Ok, so this card is WAY different for me.... ready???  Well, here ya go...
There are two lawyers of shaker here, the first has a handful of brightly (copic) colored seahorses, the second is filled with sequins I got from Firefly Crafts. I also used the coral stamp and colored it in different shades and placed them in the different layers to create more depth.
Here's a closer look at the inside:
 Here's the stuff I used:

I'm going to use this card for the Wonderful Wednesday challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps... Crossing my fingers!!!
Ok, I'm off to get some more ink on my fingers, he he he!  Have a really Krafty day everyone!

Show me some GREEN!!!!!

I have been so wrapped up in Firefly (my true love) that I haven't had a lot of time to play on other challenges..... but.... I happened to get a BUNCH of Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps this week, so......

The challenge over at KKS is to use GREEN!!!!! Here's what I did:

And here's the supplies I used:

The goddess comes off and is on a bookmark, since I'm such a reader I thought it would be a good little moments from the card! I hope you enjoy my little bookmark card! Thanks for stopping by... Happy Krafting everyone!!!

Sniffle... my last day.... sigh...

How is it Friday already????? Wow, I can't even believe it's my last day in Growing In Unity. It's been a fun week, but I'm not going to get all sentimental on you..... sniff sniff..... so, let's get to business.

You know how much I love Phyllis Harris stamps???.... Nod your head.... yeah... you know I love them.... Well, why would I not choose to use one for my last showcase project?  That would be pure craziness! This set is called "Your Wings Exist," and it's on sale for under $10!!!!!!!! You better hurry and grab one before they are all gone!
Here's my card:

Supplies:

So, I may have gone a little flower crazy, but is that even really a bad thing? Ha ha ha ha I love making shaker cards these days, although I will admit there is quite a learning curve and it takes a while to work out in your head just how you're going to make it all work they way you want to.  With that being said, I totally love this card and I hope that the wonderful woman I send it to will love it as well!
It's been a fun week and thank you all for commenting and stopping by.  I really appreciate it all. Please feel free to follow my blog, I'd love to have you all here!
Happy crafting everyone!!!

Perfect Sentiment

Well, since I went with a sentiment front and center yesterday, I decided to go for it again today! Why not right?  I added a few more embellishments today than i did yesterday, but I still love the effect of having the sentiment be the focal point.  This is one of the Itty Bitty stamps from Unity and it totally says what my jeans are thinking! hahahaha

Here are the supplies that I used:

I totally love the "measuring tape" ribbon along the side.  (It's from Tim Holtz by the way) and the little wooden embellishment cake slice that I picked up from Firefly Crafts (they have so much cute stuff).  Ok, tomorrow is my last day..... seems like this week went by so quickly!  Crazy huh?  But I'll be back tomorrow with my last GIU project.... See you soon, Happy Crafting!
SaveSave

GIU Day 3

Day 3 and I have something "different" as promised.  I made this card because of the sentiment.... I'm always an image type girl, and I love coloring, but sometimes, the sentiment is the best part.  In this case, the sentiment is too sweet (pun intended) not to have it be front and center.  You can find the stamp (set) I used on the Unity site here.  So, here it is......

So, other than my paper cutter and some distress ink in Spun Sugar, I really didn't use many supplies. Most of the papers were from my teeny tiny (cough cough) paper scrap bin, and the bakers twine was from my equally small ribbon bin. Ha ha ha!  The cutout you see on the bottom right is actually from one of the $1 bin stamps, it's the clear part that the little stamp comes on.

Ok, hope you all have an awesome day!  See you all tomorrow!!! Happy crafting!

Coffee and a little friend

It's my second day of Growing In Unity and I'm so excited to show you what I've made! I adore Phyllis Harris Stamps, this lady has like THE BEST artistic style.  Simple and flowing and just stinking cute!  Sooooooo..... Of course I'm going to use one of her images today! Here it is:
Supplies:

I used a scrap of lace that I had in my (cough, cough, HUGE) ribbon bin, and all the amazing flowers I found at Firefly Crafts that are made by Wild Orchid. I just love them, I'm so addicted to them! I colored her up with my copics on Ex-Press-It Paper, it's soo smooth and takes so many layers of color! I also decided that she really needed to have a little piece of cake to go with her coffee, so I found one of the amazing wooden embellishments that I also got from Firefly Crafts (yeah, they have way too much cute stuff).
I adore my Unity stamps and I can't wait to show you what I have made for tomorrow. It's something TOTALLY different for me! Ahhhh!!!! Don't forget to comment each day as I'll be choosing to random winners for a Unity prize!!!
See you tomorrow, Have a Crafty Day!!!

Growing in Unity Day 1

Hello there Unity Crafters!!!!! Today marks my very first day in the Growing in Unity event.  Today I'm featuring a card that I made using the set {Jar Full of} Sweetness.  Those of you who know me, know that I'm completely addicted to apothecary jars and have lots of them filled with all sorts of candies on my countertop.  I adore them and i'll never stop collecting them.  So, when I saw this set, I knew I HAD TO HAVE it straight away!
I'm very new to making shaker cards but I thought it would be perfect to have the little sequins I purchased from Firefly Crafts inside the jars to make it look like little candies in there!

I also used a few of the flowers I purchased from Firefly Crafts as well, they are made by Wild Orchid and they are absolutely perfect!

I hope you enjoyed this card today and it inspired you to make something crafty! Surf the Unity site and find a cute stamp and get with it! he he he! See you all tomorrow!
Have a Crafty Day!

Tic Tac Toe

Ok, so you all know the game right... X's, O's... make a line or a diagonal..... well crafters do that too, but we up the stakes a bit!  He he he!!! The Challenge over at the Firefly Crafts Blog for July/August is Tic Tac Toe! Here's the board:
I chose Ribbon/Orange/Easel because, well, just because! hahahah!  So here's my creation:
