A little Bee

"Hello!"  That's what this little Bee is saying to you all.  Every once in a while I dust off my Faber-Castell Polychromo pencils and give them a go.  Today was that day.  Pencil coloring is just.... neat.
Coloring an image with pencils is so very different.  I find it cathartic at times.  I mean this little guy was 5 layers of pencil coloring on Sweet Sentiment Premium coloring paper.  I love the effect that pencils have on the image.  It's soothing to me to take the time and watch it all develop.

Ok now that you KNOW I'm totally strange.... I used Distress Oxide inks to make the background, also on Sweet Sentiment coloring paper, and an awesome stencil from The Rabbit Hole Designs.  I then used Alphabet dies from Honey Bee stamps to cut out the word, and their A2 scalloped edge card die as well.  I then layered it all up and popped up the letters and the bee (He's from Stampers Delights!) with foam mounting squares.  I finished it off with some awesome ribbon that I found at the Dollar tree like FOREVER ago.

This little Bee just makes me smile, I've made a lot of cards using him, and I still grin every time I color him.  I'm sure you'll see more of him in the future.

I'm buzzing off to get another cup of coffee.  Talk to you all soon! Hugs and Toodles!

Ahhhh.... Coffee

Ok, it's no secret how much I enjoy my coffee.  We all know this, and we all can relate.... well most of us.  But, with all that's going on in the world today, coffee is such a tiny thing that helps me get my focus back.  Chemical Dependance be damned!

I colored this image with my Copic markers after printing her out on Sweet Sentiment Coloring Paper. I Aldo used Sweet Sentiment Paper and A Tim Holtz stencil with Distress Oxide inks to make the background.  Then the DSP back there behind it all is from Unity Stamps.  I can't tell you how much I love coloring this image.  I've used her a few times on cards int he past and I just keep going back to her.  The sentiment is from one of my Sweet Sentiment stamp sets called Coffee Plans.

Thank you all for stopping by today.  I sure hope all of this craziness ends soon.  But, until then, I have my cup of sanity.... oh wait, it's empty... time for a refill.... Toodles!

Sadness...but not me!

Yeah, so I"m not sad, It's just the name of the character that this stamp was based from.  I just adore her too.... she makes me giggle.... I'm not sure why.  But, her innate ability to turn EVERYTHING into something glum is pretty epic.

This adorable i'mage is from Kindred Stamps and is part of a set called "The Feels."  I colored her up with my Polychormo pencils from Faber Castell and then I popped her on this awesome background. The Background was ink blended with a secret stencil in a few colors of blue Distress Oxide Inks.... I just grabbed a bunch of blues and went to town, so, I can't really tell you which ones I used.  I finished her off with a sentiment from the set as well that I simply head embossed with white embossing powder on black card stock and a ribbon from the doable bin at Michaels.

I'd live to tell you that this was a quick A2 card, but pencil coloring is NEVER quick.  So I'll tell you it was an easy A2 card, and it will be great to send to a friend when that person is feeling a bit down.

Thanks for stopping by today! Big hugs!

I'm off to get another cup of coffee, it's 7 am and I'm not nearly caffeinated enough! Toodles!

A Little Zodiac Mermaid

Hey there Oddies and Sweeties, I have a fun little birthday card to share with you all today.... Zodiac style!  Check it out:

I used the Pisces digital image from Some Odd Girl and colored her up with Copic markers.

The background is made using the Sweet Sentiment Mandala Stencil and a few colors of Distress Oxide Inks.  I used a stamp from The Rabbit Hole Designs and some black WOW Embossing powder on a piece of vellum to make the sentiment. Then I added some Nuvo drops and a little satin ribbon to complete the card.  I also used some foam squares to pop up the little mermaid to add a little dimension to the project.  Here's a side view for you to see.

Ok, I really hope that you all love this little card and I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!
I'm off to grab another cup of coffee, toodles!

The age of Aquarius... well, the month anyway.

I know that song will be stuck in your head..... every time I even hear the word "Aquarius" that song gets in my head and won't go away!  But today, well today.... Aquarius has never been so darn cute!!!!

Today I'm sharing with you a new project in my Erin Condren Life Planner and it's the totally amazing Aquarius digi from Some Odd Girl!
As you can tell by the watermark above, I've accepted a position on the SOG DT so look for lots more projects in the future featuring images from he amazing ODD Girl Kristy!  I just adore her artwork and have so much fun creating with it!

I made this planner page quite easily actually.  I used a cloud stencil and placed it directly on the planner page itself, then I used colors of Distress Oxide inks and little sponge applicators to apply the ink.  After that I just freehanded the layers of blue at the bottom.  I used a stencil that had polka dots and stars and just omitted the stars in the center portion.  I used my glittery Jelly Roll pen to add little accents to the bottom of each raindrop.

I colored the image on Sweet Sentiment Coloring stock with my copic markers.  The skin is E04, E11, E21, E00, and E000.  The hair is BG 49, BG45, BG15, and B00. The dress and water are :b99, B97, B95, B93, B91, B12, B41, B00, and B0000.

I then fussy cut the image with my trusty Cutter Bee scissors and adhered her to my planner page using the Prima Planner Glue Stick that you see in the photo.

I believe Aquarius officially begins on January 21st, so that is why I have her on this particular planner page!

I hope that you love this idea and that you do this yourself in your own planner or calendar, or even on a card or scrapbook page!  There are sooooo many things you could to with this super cute image!

Ok I'm off to get a cup of coffee! Hugs to you all! Toodles!

The Mistress of the Dead

Quite the ominous title huh?  Well, that's the name of the newest digital image from Annie Rodrigue over at Moonlight Whispers.  Just check out this creepy lady.....
I'll admit that this image was a challenge to color.  But a lot of that had to do with the fact that I chose to color her using the "no lines" technique.  I'm a glutton for punishment like that.

I used two Authentique paper pads to make this card.  Nightfall and Romance.  Yeah, they do not sound like they go together at all, but I think, given the subject matter of this card, they worked out just perfectly.  I also created a couple of flowers using the Sweet Peony stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations, and paired them with some flowers I had from Wild Orchid Crafts. I accented with Distress oxide ink in Candied Apple, a black satin ribbon, and Nuvo drops.

Copic Markers used:

A delight of a card!

Ok, so don't mind my pun in the title.... but I have a card for you all to see featuring a new image from Scrappers Delights!

I adore these anime style images, I'm not sure why, but they have always spoken to me!  I love the style and how fun they are, and plus, they lend themselves to bright colors and bold backgrounds.  You all know, that's my jam!  So, here's my card:

The background is simply made with a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks layered on top of one another and blended to make a soft transition.  After that I spritzed it with water and dabbed it with a paper towel.  Then I fussy cut the image out after printing and coloring it on Sweet Sentiment Coloring paper with Copic markers.  I added a sentiment and a few Nuvo drops for texture.

I really had a lot of fun creating this card, and I can't wait to give it to a friend!  Hope you have an awesome week and I'll see ya all soon! Tootles!

A card for a friend

Good morning everyone.  I thought I'd sit down at my craft desk yesterday and just let my markers tell me what to do.  So, this is what I came up with...... WARNING: sappy post ahead.

I've ordered a few stamp sets lately because I had a particular card I wanted to create.  I wanted to do a floral card, but something a little "different."  We all know that florals are NOT in my "normal" go to pile of images.  I also saw this set of an ASL alphabet from Altenew, and I just KNEW that I NEEDED it to make a card for a special friend.  Here's my card:

I went for a "thank you" card as my wonderful friend, Becky, has taken my under her wing and taught me so very much this past few months.  We have become close friends and she makes me be a better person, but one that still oozes with snark. Lol!  We share a coffee addiction that only one another would understand, and we are creative and crafty in totally opposite ways.  I color, she makes EVERYTHING else! hahaha!

I spent some time fussy cutting these beautiful flowers because I absolutely could NOT hand Becky a flat card..... GASP! Oh, the horror! I employed quite a few 3D foam adhesive squares to make sure that there was at least a little dimension on this card.

Copic Markers Used: YG99, YG97, YG95, YG93, YG91
V99, RV69, RV66, RV19, RV25, RV13
Y08, BV29, By25, BV23, 0 Colorless Blender

I began the process by stamping the image on Sweet Sentiment Coloring Paper using Momento London Fog ink.  I then colored the image using my Copic Markers.  I put my Cutter Bee paper snips to work fussy cutting around the image.  I used a 5.5" x 5.5" piece of Sweet Sentiment Coloring Paper and Distress oxide inks in Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, and Scattered Straw to create the background.  I then tied a length of bakers twine in gray and white around the background and adhered it to a card base of the same size.  I adhered the poppies using foam square adhesives.  Then I used the ASL Love set from Altenew to create the sentiment.  Again I stamped it in Momento London Fog onto Sweet Sentiment Coloring Paper, then I took my Copic Multiliner in 0.03 and traced around the hands to highlight them a bit more.  I cut the words into banners and adhered them the same way as the poppies.

Now, I'm going to fill this card with kind words, and really throw her for a loop! Lol.  I Love how this card came out. It's so far out of my "norm" and it was so much fun to just create something with no pressure.  I really had NO IDEA how this card would turn out when I sat down at my desk.  Just goes to show you that "sometimes no plan is the best plan."

Thanks everyone for reading.  Hope you all have a wonderful week!  See you soon! Tootles!

I May Need More Coffee

Hey there friends!  Today is Wednesday..... that means I for sure need more coffee! Ha ha ha!  Yesterday I did a little color along live in the Sweet Sentiment Gorup, so I figured today I'd add that Image to a card so you could all see the finish product!  Here's a link to the video in gas you'd like to watch the replay: https://www.facebook.com/jammie.clark.731/videos/374182133189241/

I colored her up using Copic markers on Copic X-Press it paper.  I then used a piece of watercolor paper to create the Distress Oxide background.  I used three colors of red and blended them in a gradient style to create the base, then I spritzed that with water and used a tissue to remove the excess water.  After that I laid a stencil over the top and used Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink to make the pattern.  I stamped the sentiment (from Ink Road Stamps) with Ink on 3 Clear embossing ink and used Nuvo Hot Chocolate embossing powder to make it pop.  I added a few half pearls for a bit of dimension and there you have it!

Hope you love this little coffee addicted cutie as much as I do! Have a wonderful day, and may your coffee be stronger than your desire to g back to bed! Ha ha ha! Tootles!

Nurses fix it all!

It's day 2 of the Some Odd Girl 12 day coloring challenge and I've got a fresh card for you to see!  I'm loving using my Distress Oxide inks lately, they are so fun to create with!

With that in mind, I knew what I wanted to do for a background, but wasn't sure what I wanted to do for an image.  Then, I saw this adorable Nurse Kaylee digi and KNEW what needed to happen.

Ok, first things first, YES, I own a stethoscope.

Now that that is out of the way, I printed the digital image on Catherine Pooler 100 lb marker paper at an opacity of 15%..... way too light, but hey, I'm a glutton for punishment.  I colored her in with my Copic markers. After coloring her I fussy cut her out leaving a very small white border around the whole image.

Copics used:
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: E59, E47, E37, E57, Y28
Scrubs: YG09, G03, YG11, YG41 (I also did a little tip to tip blending between G03 and YG11)
Stethoscope: C3, C1, C00, R59, R29, R17, R22
Shoes: N10, N08, N6, N4
Eyes, E25, E47, Y13, G000, C2, 0

The background is made by using a Gina Marie die and cutting it out on card stock, then taping that over a piece of watercolor paper.  I then used Distress Oxide inks in Peeled Paint, Cracked Pistachio, and Twisted Citron to create a blended ombre effect.  After removing the stencil I sprayed with a bit of water and dabbed it off.  The nurse was attached to the background using foam squares and then I used Nuvo crystal drops in Gloss white for accent.  The black ribbon is from Stampin' Up! I embossed the sentiment using Ink on 3 embossing and watermark ink pad with Detail Black embossing powder on a sentiment from The Greeting Farm Get Well Soon set.

Okie Dokie, that's it for me today!  Hope you love her!  I'll see ya back here tomorrow (I hope) for another day of the 12 day coloring challenge!  Woohoo!!! Tootles!

Mixing it up

Hello all, there have been a lot of changes happening in my world, and thus, I haven't been blogging a bunch.  But i wanted to share with you my very first attempt at mixed media.

Mixed media is a scary thing for me.  I'm a VERY clean person and a very clean crafter.  I think things to perfectly fit in their place and I like them to be organized and linear and every other adjective that means tidy! He he he! I'm pretty sure most of you already know that.  But...... My good friend Leah has been begging me to get into mixed media for a couple of years now, and I finally let her push me off the edge of the proverbial pool.  She has come up with this incredible art journaling program.... check it out.....
So, I figured "what the heck?" and jumped on in.  I'm a week behind as I've been dragging my feet on getting into the mixed media world... but I'll catch up quickly I assume! So, last week was to use the word "Compassion" as your inspiration.... and here's my project:
I started with a bunch of stickers that had motivational type vibes to them, but that also made me think about being compassionate.  Most of them were from MAMBI (from their Happy Planner line) and then I randomly (but very straight) stuck them on the paper.  Then I covered it all with a good layer of White Gesso. I didn't even know what this stuff was, but I knew I was supposed to use it! (Hint: it's actual function is sorta that of a primer. Go figure.) Then I let that dry for a bit, probably not long enough, because they OTHER issue with my crafting is that I'm a "get it done" kind of girl.  .....aaaannnndddddd........ mixed media stuff takes time to dry and layer and all of that.... whew, I'm way out of my comfort zone here.
THEN, I took a stencil (from Gina Marie Designs) and a palette knife and I used a little texture paste and a little molding paste and I scraped it across the stencil.  Then I repositioned the stencil and did that a few more times.  After that dried a bit, again, not long enough.... then I took some water and spritzed my whole paper and used some Distress Oxide inks and a paint brush and added some color around the white parts to jazz it up.  This time I really did let it dry... and I put it under something heavy so that the page didn't curl up.
When it was all dry I went to my cookie jar.... yup, cookie jar... but MY cookie jar is filled with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and I grabbed a fistful and set to making little bunches of flowers all over the page.  i also found some of my little wooden accents, the little arrows, and put them on the page.... lastly..... I colored up the Gemini stamp from Stampin' Bella (which I buy all of from the 7 Kids Crafty Supply Store) and fussy cut them and then adhered them to the page! Done and done!

I'm really pleased with how this came out, especially for my first attempt at mixed media!  Hope you all like it too!  Thanks a bunch for looking!  Have a wonderful week.  Tootles!

Wait... NOT a card?

Every month there is a Krafty Scrappy challenge that is "anything but a card." We all know that I have a lot of trouble doing this.... like A LOT! I mean, I make cards, that 's what I do. So when you tell me to make something that 's not a card... I instantly question our friendship...... but....

Ok, so my second love, is my planner! Yeah I'm one of "those" people. I love the tangible.  I don't put dates and appointments and stuff like that in my phone, I like to have it on paper. .....DUHHHHH Jammie, you dork (yeah I call myself names), make a darn planner layout! Sheesh!

Ok, so I used distress inks and a sponge with a stencil to make the could background.  I stamped the trolls on coloring card stock and colored them up all bright and fun to go with the colouds. I added some stickers and Washi tape, this is obviously BEFORE i wrote in everything that I have to do this week. But you get the idea!

Here's the deets on the challenge:

Who's ready for a Comeback????

Oh yeah, Oh yeah, Happy dance time! It's Krafty Komeback day! Woohoo! .....and the lucky stamp is........ drumroll please..... WITCHY-POO!!!!!
Ok, So I didn't have Witchy-Poo, so when I found out that she was the Krafty Komeback I was elated! She is so adorable! Here's my card.....
Mindy Eggen taught me how to make a could background with Distress Inks, so I used the ones in the photo and got with it! I stamped the sentiment directly not he background and tied a ribbon around it.  I used pop dots to add some detention to the card, and I colored little witchy poo here with acid green skin just like Wizard of Oz! He he he!

Ok, scoop up little miss Witchy-poo while you can and get to crafting just in time for All Hallows Eve! Hooray! Have a wonderful Friday, see ya here tomorrow for a Saturday Challenge! Tootles!

All my best friends are witches!

Hi Krafty People!!!
Guess what it's time for? Yeah time for that Krafty Chamber of Secrets to crrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkk open and reveal another one of it's secrets! This time it's a set that is/was crazy popular and so incredibly cute!  It is: ALL MY BEST FRIENDS ARE WITCHES!!!!!
I created this card by stamping this fun and spooky girl on Copic Express-it yardstick and coloring her with my Copic markers. I used Stickles glitter on the potion to make it sparkle.  I then used my Distress Oxide Inks, more Stickles, and Mixed Media yardstick from Canson for the background.  The potion paper is from Doodlebug of course and then just some cool black twine as an accent.
Copic Markers list: E000, E00, E02, E11, R20, BV29, C7, BV23, V17, V09, V06, V12, V12, BG75, BG49, BG15, BG10, W3, W1, W0
