Grumpy Panda

This little brea is so grumpy it just makes me smile!  Is that mean? lol!!!

Another new Digi from Some Odd Girl today and I cannot tell you how much fun I had with this one. I'm totally having a blast creating slimline cards right now.  I know, I know, I know, it's totally a fad and it will go by the wayside again soon! But, I can have fun with it while it's popular can't I???
Anyways, this little boy/girl it's totally in a bad mood, and I gotta tell you, I was totally feeling the same way yesterday.  I think all of the quarantine and fear in the world today is making me moody.

So, I printed this bear on Sweet Sentiment Coloring paper and colored it with the following Copic markers.
Skin: RV95, E11, E21, E00, E000, R20, E13 (for the freckles)
Hair: E18, E08, YR18, Y17, E31
Eyes: G99, G46, G000 C2, 0 (colorless blender)
Black: C10, C8, C6, C4, C2
White: W2, W1, W0, W00, 0 (colorless blender)
Black multilines pen, white jelly roll pen

I used a piece of Sweet Sentiment Coloring paper and a stencil from Brutus Monroe along with Distress Oxide Inks for the background.  I spritzed it with some water to disturb the perfect lines left by the stencil.  I also used a sentiment from an old retired Whitt and Sass stamp set and some Stickles drops in "Star Dust." I also use foam adhesive squares to pop up the sentiment and the bear.

Okie Dokie my friends, I'm ogg to get another cup of coffee.... I really need it today! Toodles!

Nose to Nose

This sweet little mermaid is meeting this silly little angel fish nose to nose!

This mermaid is a digital image from Some Odd Girl and she's called "Dancing Mermaid." However, I manipulated the angle here to have her meeting up with this little fishy, instead of dancing.

Copic Markers used:
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000, R20
Hair: Rv14, R22, R43, R32, E93, E02, YR82, R01
Tail: B95, B34, B52, B21, B91, B41, C0
Fish: YR18, YR07, YR16, Y38, Y19, Y06, Y00
Ocean: BG05, BG02, B01, B00 BG000

Hope you enjoy this little MerMay card, I'm off to fill up this empty coffee cup! Toodles!

A Proper Mermaid

Ok, so today is the last day for the Some Odd Girl MerMay release, but that doesn't mean the fun is over.  I'll still be posting more and more and more mermaids throughout the month.  Today though, I have a proper mermaid to share with you, No really, that's what she's named.

I had to color her with some classic mermaid colors because she was just so...proper.  I placed her in a little shallow in the ocean with a sand bar and little boulder and of Cours beautiful tropical teal waters.  I simply used a corner rounder and layered her on top of papers from Graphic 45.  I love that she is just so simple, yet stunningly beautiful.  And all of that hair makes me swoon.

Ok I'll catch ya on the next wave.... I'm off to the coffee pot for a fill up.  Toodles!

Hey Mermaid

Hey hey hey... this mermaid is sure to make you smile.... the third in the new MerMay release from Some Odd Girl.  Check her out!

When I saw her I just knew that she would be laying out on a rock, sunning herself, and becoming any passing sailor.  Those poor fools have no idea what's coming.  I love her swath of brunette hair and this bubblegum pink tail.  I used my favorite Die from Honey Bee Stamps to cut out the scene, and then placed it atop a piece of incredible First Edition paper.  I added a huge pink organza bow and a few Nuvo drops for good measure.

I hope that you are loving this amazing MerMay as much as I am.  I'll be back tomorrow with yet another mermaid to share with you.

Mmmmm.... I think I need another cup of coffee.... yup, pretty sure I do, Toodles!

Mermaid Tunes

Oh Em Gee you guys!!!! I LOVE this next mermaid soooo much!  Check this out!!!

Ok, so I love that she is totally rocking out to her favorite music and I felt like she would be topside for this.  Just breaking the surface of the water and catching some rays.  I used a piece of paper from my stash that is rustic weathered wood with some peeling teal paint, and cute the card front out using a die from Honey Bee Stamps.  Then I added a really neat fiber from Busy Box Blends By Pammy J, and a fun Nuvo drops to finish off the look.  I LOVE this card so much!

Okie dokie, I'm going to turn the music up and finish this cup of coffee!  Toodles!

MerMay with Some Odd Girl

Ok, so you didn't think I was finished with the Mermaids yet did you?  No way!!! I have a whole school of new mermaids to share with you starting today from Some Odd Girl!

Here's the first!

This sweet girl is called Mermaid Ponytail and she is totally FAB!!!! I paired her with the ne Graphic 45 Under the Sea papers and it was a match made in... well.. Atlantis! lol! I cute the fish out from one of the sheets of paper because her hand was drawn to look like she's petting something I thought. So... a big ol fish is going to foot that bill.

I loved the huge open fin at the end of her tail an the fun way her hair floats all around her body.  This was a super cool image to color. I placed her in a sea cavern in the deep, deep sea and made her just a little dark and twisty!  I hope you love her too!

I'm off for a cup of coffee.  Talk to you all tomorrow, Toodles!

Ahhhh.... Coffee

Ok, it's no secret how much I enjoy my coffee.  We all know this, and we all can relate.... well most of us.  But, with all that's going on in the world today, coffee is such a tiny thing that helps me get my focus back.  Chemical Dependance be damned!

I colored this image with my Copic markers after printing her out on Sweet Sentiment Coloring Paper. I Aldo used Sweet Sentiment Paper and A Tim Holtz stencil with Distress Oxide inks to make the background.  Then the DSP back there behind it all is from Unity Stamps.  I can't tell you how much I love coloring this image.  I've used her a few times on cards int he past and I just keep going back to her.  The sentiment is from one of my Sweet Sentiment stamp sets called Coffee Plans.

Thank you all for stopping by today.  I sure hope all of this craziness ends soon.  But, until then, I have my cup of sanity.... oh wait, it's empty... time for a refill.... Toodles!

A Little Zodiac Mermaid

Hey there Oddies and Sweeties, I have a fun little birthday card to share with you all today.... Zodiac style!  Check it out:

I used the Pisces digital image from Some Odd Girl and colored her up with Copic markers.

The background is made using the Sweet Sentiment Mandala Stencil and a few colors of Distress Oxide Inks.  I used a stamp from The Rabbit Hole Designs and some black WOW Embossing powder on a piece of vellum to make the sentiment. Then I added some Nuvo drops and a little satin ribbon to complete the card.  I also used some foam squares to pop up the little mermaid to add a little dimension to the project.  Here's a side view for you to see.

Ok, I really hope that you all love this little card and I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!
I'm off to grab another cup of coffee, toodles!

Cute Veggies!

Hey Oddies and Sweeties!  I'm here today to show you a new little project I made! Since Sweet Sentiment is doing an ATC swap this month, and the theme is Kawaii, I navigated my way straight over to the Some Odd Girl Shop to check out what was available to make these ATCs the cutest ever. As usual, Kristy did not disappoint!  Check out these adorable Veggies!

I used the Carrot and the Broccoli.

I colored these cuties in using my Copic markers on some Sweet Sentiment Coloring paper.  I then mounted them on some Doodlebug paper from the "So Punny" collection.  I added a little pink and white bakers twine, and used Distress Oxide Black Soot ink around all of the layers to give it that finished look.  I just adore how these came out, good thing I mad an extra to keep for myself.... shhhhh don't tell ok?

I hope these little ATCs inspire you to maybe join in our next swap, or to hop on over to the SOG shop and check out all of the cute Digis that are there!  I'm serious, I love them all!

I'm off to make a cup of coffee!  Toodles!

A day at the beach

Hey Oddies and Sweeties!  I'm here today with another card featuring an incredible digital image from Some Odd Girl!   Ok, so I'm actually not a HUGE mermaid fan.  I LIKE them, but it's not a big  "OMG it's a mermaid I MUST have it or I will surely die," type scenario.  With that being said, Kristy has some of the absolute cutest mermaids out there.  The one I'm sharing with you today is one of my favorites! Here she is:

She's rightfully named "Mermaid Queen" given that she is wearing a crown and a lot of other jewelry. Lol! I just picked up a piece of Sweet Sentiment Coloring paper and went to town with my Copic markers!  I love orange and rarely see it used in cards, so I decided to use it as a focal point for her tail.  Man, I'm sure glad I did, because I totally love how it came out. I used a combination of Nuvo Drops and Stickles and a paint brush to make the ocean foam, added a bunch of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Magnolia, I stuck on some enamel dots from Doodlebug design.  Boom! Done! The papers are from First Edition and Graphic 45.

Well, as much as I wish I was at the beach hanging out with mermaid royalty, I'm still in Idaho, and it's January and cold.... so I'm going to go make a cup of coffee!  See you all soon my friends, Toodles!

You'd better know how to swim!

Hey there Sweeties and Oddies!  I'm here today to share with you another fun DT project from Some Odd Girl!

Allow me to introduce to you "Mermaid Piper."   I just adore her and her little come hither look over the shoulder.  I think she's fun with just a little bit of sass going on inside that head of hers.  That's why I chose to use that particular sentiment.  I put it inside the card, but I wanted you all to see it as well!

I colored this image up using Copic markers on Sweet Sentiment Coloring paper. I didn't write down my color, I'm sorry, but this was one of those times when I didn't want to think about it, I just wanted to color.  When I was finished, there was a massive heap of markers on my desk and I quickly put them all away before I needed coffee (or wine) to make it happen! lol! I added some really cool netting I got from one of my friends (Busy Box Blends) who makes fiber blends for craft projects.  I thought the netting went perfectly with this nautical theme here.  All of the papers are from Authentique and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Okie dokie, I'm going to go grab that cup of coffee I was talking about because it's time for me to hit the road as I'm on my way to Creativation today! Woohoo!!!! See ya all soon!  Toodles!

The age of Aquarius... well, the month anyway.

I know that song will be stuck in your head..... every time I even hear the word "Aquarius" that song gets in my head and won't go away!  But today, well today.... Aquarius has never been so darn cute!!!!

Today I'm sharing with you a new project in my Erin Condren Life Planner and it's the totally amazing Aquarius digi from Some Odd Girl!
As you can tell by the watermark above, I've accepted a position on the SOG DT so look for lots more projects in the future featuring images from he amazing ODD Girl Kristy!  I just adore her artwork and have so much fun creating with it!

I made this planner page quite easily actually.  I used a cloud stencil and placed it directly on the planner page itself, then I used colors of Distress Oxide inks and little sponge applicators to apply the ink.  After that I just freehanded the layers of blue at the bottom.  I used a stencil that had polka dots and stars and just omitted the stars in the center portion.  I used my glittery Jelly Roll pen to add little accents to the bottom of each raindrop.

I colored the image on Sweet Sentiment Coloring stock with my copic markers.  The skin is E04, E11, E21, E00, and E000.  The hair is BG 49, BG45, BG15, and B00. The dress and water are :b99, B97, B95, B93, B91, B12, B41, B00, and B0000.

I then fussy cut the image with my trusty Cutter Bee scissors and adhered her to my planner page using the Prima Planner Glue Stick that you see in the photo.

I believe Aquarius officially begins on January 21st, so that is why I have her on this particular planner page!

I hope that you love this idea and that you do this yourself in your own planner or calendar, or even on a card or scrapbook page!  There are sooooo many things you could to with this super cute image!

Ok I'm off to get a cup of coffee! Hugs to you all! Toodles!

January Color Challenge is LIVE

Who's up for a color challenge?  I'll be posting a new color challenge every month on the first day of that month.  I'm excited because I LOVE color challenges!  This one is no exception, it's awesome!

These beautiful pinks and grays just spoke to me, not to mention those amazing paper flowers in the photo! Wow!  I just love them!

I had a hard time choosing an image for the project I wanted to make using this color palette.  I wanted to inspire you all to want to play along, but I also really wanted to challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone and do something that was a little intimidating to me.  Then it hit me!!!!!

Copic markers used:
Tail: R83, RV32, R32, RV23, RV21, RV10
Skin: E15, E11, E21, E00, E000
Hair: C8, C6, C4, C2, C0
Barrel: N6, N4, N2, N0, W6, W4, W2
Background: C, N, W, and T series markers and RV10 along with 0 Colorless Blender

I just ADORE this image from Some Odd Girl called "Mermaid Bath."  In all honesty, I couldn't be happier with the way this turned out.  I added a bit of white jelly roll pen to the snowcaps on the mountains and a glitter jelly roll pen to the mermaid's tail.  I mean, she HAS to be glittery right???

The background papers are from the Graphic 45 Bloom series and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and a few miscellaneous one that I had from friends sending them to me (thank you Jasmine!).

I really hope this inspires you to play along with this color challenge.  To enter all you have to do is make a project that uses the color palette above, then post the photo of your project into the album in the FaceBook group.   You can enter up to three times as long as your projects are in the album prior to the last day of the month.  I'll announce the winner on the first of February when I post the new challenge!  Remember, we are a coloring group, so your project needs to have something colored on it! Wanna know what you're trying to win???  OK!!!!

The winner this month will get:  A Sweet Sentiment Tee Shirt!!!!! Awe yeah!  So much fun!

I can't wait to see what you all create, I'm off to make a cup of coffee.  Toodles!

A tipsy mermaid...

I don't know what I'd do with a drunken sailor, nor do I know what to do with a tipsy mermaid.... but this Image from Some Odd Girl is just awesome!

I colored her up using a super fun fistful of bright Copic markers in my favorite colors of Teal and Purple.  I know I should have written down the list of all that I used, but today, I just wanted to color. My friend Becky told me that I needed to color a background for her ..... I realized you don't tell Becky "no."  So, a background needed to happen.  I was trying to figure out what her story was and it felt to me that she was swimming along and happened upon a pirate ship full of pirate rum.  She had a bit too much and found herself in this state.  Ha ha ha!

Of course I had to add a lot of glitter to her tail and hair, because, hey, she's a mermaid! I also put glossy accents on the bottles to make them pop a bit more.  I sure hope she doesn't have a hangover in the morning!

This project was done for day 3 of the 12 day coloring challenge for Some Odd Girl. I'm having a lot of fun coloring for this challenge!  Hooray!  Talk to you all soon!  Tootles!

Nurses fix it all!

It's day 2 of the Some Odd Girl 12 day coloring challenge and I've got a fresh card for you to see!  I'm loving using my Distress Oxide inks lately, they are so fun to create with!

With that in mind, I knew what I wanted to do for a background, but wasn't sure what I wanted to do for an image.  Then, I saw this adorable Nurse Kaylee digi and KNEW what needed to happen.

Ok, first things first, YES, I own a stethoscope.

Now that that is out of the way, I printed the digital image on Catherine Pooler 100 lb marker paper at an opacity of 15%..... way too light, but hey, I'm a glutton for punishment.  I colored her in with my Copic markers. After coloring her I fussy cut her out leaving a very small white border around the whole image.

Copics used:
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: E59, E47, E37, E57, Y28
Scrubs: YG09, G03, YG11, YG41 (I also did a little tip to tip blending between G03 and YG11)
Stethoscope: C3, C1, C00, R59, R29, R17, R22
Shoes: N10, N08, N6, N4
Eyes, E25, E47, Y13, G000, C2, 0

The background is made by using a Gina Marie die and cutting it out on card stock, then taping that over a piece of watercolor paper.  I then used Distress Oxide inks in Peeled Paint, Cracked Pistachio, and Twisted Citron to create a blended ombre effect.  After removing the stencil I sprayed with a bit of water and dabbed it off.  The nurse was attached to the background using foam squares and then I used Nuvo crystal drops in Gloss white for accent.  The black ribbon is from Stampin' Up! I embossed the sentiment using Ink on 3 embossing and watermark ink pad with Detail Black embossing powder on a sentiment from The Greeting Farm Get Well Soon set.

Okie Dokie, that's it for me today!  Hope you love her!  I'll see ya back here tomorrow (I hope) for another day of the 12 day coloring challenge!  Woohoo!!! Tootles!

12 days of coloring challenge: Spring edition

Hello all!

One of the Sponsors of Sweet Sentiment has issued a challenge..... and of course, I accepted!  Some Odd Girl is the sponsor of the May class and they are challenging all of their followers to color something for 12 days straight.  It could be 12 days of working on the same project, or 12 different things, just so that you color for 12 consecutive days!  Here's the banner...

So, I sat down today and colored a digi that I've been wanting to color for a long time!
I seriously love this digi.  I think that it is so adorable and super versatile.  It could be used for a whole plethora of things.  Today, a snarky "miss you" card.  I use the term "snarky" because, check out the inside...

So I printed the Image on Catherine Pooler 100 lb marker paper and colored her with the following Copic Markers:
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: 100, C9, C7, B24, C5
Scarf: B99, B97, B95, B93, B91
Sweater: R59, R29, R27, R17, R22, N4, N3, N2, N1, N0
Eyes: B18, YG97, Y17, E57, G00, C2
Sky: BG02, B01, B00
Hills: G03, G82, YG93, YG63, YG25, YG03, YG00, G40

The Cloud Dies are from Lawn Fawn, and the DSP is from simple stories and Doodlebug.  I also used Distress Oxide Ink in Hickory Smoke on some of the clouds and around the outside of the colored image.

Well, this puts day one of the coloring challenge in the books!  I'm off to a good start!  Hopefully I can keep it going.  Talk to you all later! Tootles!
